The African American Federal Executive Association (AAFEA), a leading non-profit organisation committed to advancing African Americans within the federal government’s Senior Executive Service, is set to conduct its 20th Annual Leadership Development Workshop (LDW). The event will take place from June 4 to 6 at the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in College Park, MD.

For two decades, this workshop has consistently united global thought leaders, industry specialists, and C-suite executives to share insights and innovations that foster positive transformations within the federal sector. This year, under the theme “Leading the Call to Action,” participants are urged to actively engage in initiatives that drive significant and tangible changes, enhancing the representation of African Americans in senior federal leadership roles.

The workshop will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers from both public and private sectors, addressing crucial topics that define outstanding federal leaders. Notable keynotes include Shavon Arline Bradley, President & CEO of the National Council of Negro Women, and Marc H. Morial, President of the National Urban League, who are set to lead pivotal discussions on transformational leadership and ethics in government.

In partnership with Management Concepts, the LDW will also offer two optional pre-conference certificate-granting sessions, “Agile Practices in the Federal Government” and the “Executive Leadership Workshop.” These sessions aim to provide senior federal leaders with the necessary skills to achieve organisational excellence.

AAFEA President Tyra Dent stated, “The Leadership Development Workshop is a must for anyone in federal leadership roles from GS-13 through SES who wants to be inspired, motivated and propelled to their highest professional aspirations within the federal government. We encourage attendees to take advantage of this professional development opportunity that also offers unparalleled networking opportunities with other senior executives across the federal government.”

The event is priced at $1,699 for AAFEA Members for the three-day workshop, and $1,999 including a Pre-Conference Course. For non-members, prices start at $1,999 and rise to $2,399 with the Pre-Conference Course included.
