Oldbury based company Stephen Gaskets received a distanced visit from local MP Shaun Bailey. The business based in the West Midlands has been providing the NHS with support during the Covid-19 crisis.

Mr. Bailey was taken for a show around, accompanied by Piers Bayton, Senior Engineer, exploring the altered production lines based in the company’s factory. The MP congratulated the business for their efforts in making sure employees were kept safe upon their return to work whilst also assisting with the nation’s health system during their PPE shortage.

Stephen Gaskets has been manufacturing the face visors in order to keep things moving whilst also providing approved CE marked equipment to businesses, care homes and frontline staff, including the NHS, throughout the UK. The aim of the company was to make sure that all equipment provided was both safe and comfortable for clients to wear.

The leading UK manufacturer of plastics renovated part of their factory’s production line during efforts to create and supply the EN166 certified equipment.

Piers Bayton stated: “It was an honor for Stephens Gaskets to host MP Shaun Bailey and great that we were able to show him the efforts we went to assist and support our country. The visit enabled us to describe the exact process we had gone through to not only help the services but also donate a proportion of certified visors to the NHS.”

“We will continue to generate this product for the foreseeable future as up to now we have the capability to produce a total of 2 million face shields per month.”
